Compiled from 1537 to 1560 by Wen Zhengming with sons Wen Peng and Wen Jia; engraved by Wen Shu and Zhang Jianfu. The original woodcuts were lost twice to fires; later expanded to twelves volumes engraved in 121 stone tablets which have since been lost. The first contains Jin and minor Tang rubbings, the second of Tang period Jin rubbings, the third and fourth containing Tang works, those of the Song in volumes five to seven, Yuan in eight and nine, the remaining a collection of Wen Zhengming’s writings. Together, an extraordinary work representing the finest of later rubbings.
盧芹齋舊藏 清拓文征明輯《停雲館帖》十卷
此帖由文征明撰集,收錄自晉至元歷代名跡。其子文彭、文嘉摹勒,溫恕、章簡甫鎸刻。初為木板,僅四卷,遭倭亂毀於火,漸次增至十卷,再毀於火,後乃刻石。自嘉靖十六年(1537)年至三十九年(1560)共刻12卷,121石。石後歸寒山趙氏、武進劉氏、常熟錢氏、鎮洋畢氏、桐鄉馮氏等等,最終散佚。
此帖神采清勁,選擇精,偽書少,首卷晉唐小楷多據越州石氏本上石,為全帖之菁粹。孙承泽《闲者轩帖考》有云:“停云精劲不俗,为近世诸刻第一”。
本部為經折裝裱本,擦拓,紙墨古舊。卷一為晉、唐小字;卷二為唐摹晉帖;卷三、四為唐人書;卷五、六、七為宋人書;卷八、九元人書;卷十、十一原為明人書,今已逸;卷十二為文征明書。每冊夾板后鈐有盧芹齋藏印,出自其私人圖書館。
