James P. Kerr (NC/FL, b. 1953), Mountain Beechoil on linen, signed at lower left, inscribed by the artist on the verso, presented in an American basswood frame designed and framed by the artist. SS 29.25 x 29.25 in.; DOA 33 x 33 in. Born in Buffalo, NY, James Kerr began his art studies at a young age. Two of his greatest mentors were Lazlo Szabo, a renowned portrait painter and Carl Illig, a prominent landscape painter. He describes his work as all about "capturing a moment in time."
