James P. Kerr (NC/FL, b. 1953), Preservation Halloil on linen, signed at lower right, inscribed on the verso, presented within a silvered frame. SS 10.5 x 13.5 in.; DOA 12.5 x 15 3/8 in. Born in Buffalo, NY, James Kerr began his art studies at a young age. Two of his greatest mentors were Lazlo Szabo, a renowned portrait painter and Carl Illig, a prominent landscape painter. He describes his work as all about "capturing a moment in time." One of his paintings was recently selected by the U.S. Department of State for an Art in Embassies exhibition in Muscat, Oman.
