Signed … 光 (Yoshimitsu ?) on the tang, only partially readable.
Provenance: Fabrizio Savi collection, acquired in the late 1990s from a private American collector.
The blade has a rich later mount consisting of a nice circular tsuba in metal with a relief decoration with silver ageminations with two figures and a buffalo in a landscape with waterfall, maple leaves and shed, the tsuka covered with leather fish and silk thread, the menuki in partially gilded metal in the shape of a dragon, fuchi and kashira in metal with incised floral motifs.
