Tabrizi is an acclaimed, famous painter in Iran and abroad.
This work depicting 2 young maidens, riding horses. The on the left is holding a dove, symbolizing peace. This work depicts the young women as free spirits. There hair loose, not covered by hijab. The horses symbolize freedom, and even sexual freedom. The eyes and faces of the girls are corresponding to byzantine and Qazal tradition, created, almost, in a "Chagall" tradition .
This work is done on, what appears to be, parchment. , thus continuing the tradition of the middle east of using parchment for important texts and books. The calligraphy, which is embodied in the painting, strengthen this assumption, and links it to the Qazal tradition, as well.
