A Chinese small Guanyin of cold gilded bronze seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus throne with hands in Uttarabodhi mudra, the head wearing an elaborate crown centred with seated figure of Amitabha Buddha. On the reverse several names engraved presumably previous owners. Ming 1368–1644. Weight 909 g. H. 20 cm. Provenance: Descendants of Poul Laursen (1910–1983), who was director of the Great Nordic Telegraph Company and stationed in Shanghai from 1947–1951 with his wife Trine Laursen. The submission of bids on this lot number requires the prior registration of a valid debit/credit card, presentation of photo ID and the payment of a deposit of 50.000 DKK on request. Registration of debit/credit card, photo ID and deposit is due no later than the 27th of November.
