Robert Dudley (b. Richmond Palace 1574, d. 1649) “Carta particolare della Grande Isola del Giapone e di Iezo con il Corai et altre Isole in Torno”. 1646. Engraving mounted in passepartout. Visible size 49×75 cm Sir Robert Dudley created this rare map of the Korean Peninsula and Japan for his 17th century maritime encyclopaedia Dell'Arcano del Mare. Condition report on request. The submission of bids on this lot number requires the prior registration of a valid debit/credit card, presentation of photo ID and the payment of a deposit of 50.000 DKK on request. Registration of debit/credit card, photo ID and deposit is due no later than the 27th of November.
