A U-thong style bronze Buddha Shakyamuni seated in dhyanasana on a throne wearing a robe, downcast eyes, hair of spiky curls and a flaming ushnishathe, right hand in the bhumisparsha mudra, the left resting on the lap. Traces of gilt. Thailand 14th-15th century. Weight 7072 g. H. 50.5 cm. Wooden base enclosed. Provenance: Private collection acquired in 1970s.
