Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Red dragon over famille jaune tea pot. Potted in tea pot shape, thick and slight tall, cylindrical body, slight heavy on lower belly, gently toward short round neck, curved spout flanked on the mid belly, emerge tiger beast handles giving a balance on the opposite sides, flanked on the shoulder to mid belly, and the lid with finial bud fitted perfectly unto gallery mouth without any gap, raised with flat round foot base. The exterior hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white under glazed base color which contrast against translates to the pink family on a colored ground decoration, depicted of snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves in a red gilt color dragon squama to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames and vapors. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
