Chinese Qing Dynasty Period Yongzheng bamboo motif famille verte cup. The porcelain potted with a bulbous body, of a deep vessel, broad wide cavetto, with a flaring opening upper mouth rim, moiety bamboo form lip, raised on slight footing. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in famille verte underglaze base color which contrast against the dark green color. Meaning "the green family". Overglaze enamel decoration on export and Imperial porcelain. Developed during the Ming dynasty from multicolored decorations with translucent enamels, applied during secondary firing/s on glazed porcelain. The Exterior adorned with emerging sturdy bamboo tree surround the cup. Bamboo is viewed as a symbol of traditional Chinese values. It is an example of the harmony between nature and human beings.
