Bronze India, 18th century Dimensions: Height 17 cm by 13 cm Weight: 2540 grams Lakshmi Narayan describes a manifestation of the Hindu god Vishnu, usually with his consort Lakshmi together. Here he is seated in lotus position on a lotus flower base. He has eight arms, each holding attributes like the discus, conch shell, lotus flower, a mace, a pot and others. His body is only dressed in plain garments and jewellery. He is wearing circular ear pendants and a high headdress with geometrical pattern, the hair is done up in a bun on the back of the head. The face is very round with a broad nose, the expression seems joyful.
