Bronze Tibet, 18th century Dimensions: Height 30 cm Weight: 4.033 grams This Tara deity is seated in the royal ease pose on a large, expansive throne starting off with lotus petals, followed by a base supported by elephants and last a double reverse lotus base. The front center of the throne is further adorned with a drooping garland and cloth. The Tara's right foot is supported by a portruding lotus flower. The Tara is dressed in a long dhoti and adorned with numerous jewellery, beaded belts and necklaces. One hand is resting on the knee, the other is raised with thumb and ring finger touching, two lotus flowers are growing from both her palms. Her face emits calmness and peace with closed eyes and delicate small lips and nose. Her head is further adorned with an opulent tiara made of beaded strings and ornamental shapes and large circular ear pendants. The back of the statue is kept very simple.
