A man dressed in Chinese style and holding up a scroll, probably the poet recluse Kanzan from Cold Mountain. Usually Kanzan is depicted together with his companion Shide, who was an assistant at the temple on Cold Mountain, with Kanzan reading to Shide from a scroll. Black-stained wood, large himotoshi on the reverse.
