Description An Imperial Chinese wucai dragon dish with a 6-character Tongzhi mark and of the period. The interior features a pair of phoenixes and a pair of dragons encircling a central dragon medallion. Dimensions are: 1 1/8 inches tall X 6 inches wide, 2.9 cm tall X 15.2 cm wide. Condition Report It is in good condition with a few minor abrasions.
Provenance From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
Notes A pair of similar Imperial wucai dragon dishes dating from the Tongzhi dynasty were sold at Christie's New York on December 16, 2014, as lot 42.
