Description A pair of Chinese Tianqiu vases dating from the Republic period. Each has a 4-character mark on the bottom and features a scene of a pair of children riding an elephant with an attendant. Dimensions are: 9 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide, 22.9 cm tall X 11.4 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.

Provenance From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
