PROVENANCE: From the estate of Harold & Mousser, of York, Pennsylvania, an entrepeneurs, private collections, acquired pre-1970's from Fluhrer's Galleries, York, PA.Dimensions: Height: 3-7/8" Diameter: 5-1/2"Chinese Ming Dynasty Xuande Emperor Reign period porcelain cricket jar. Thick and having deep bowl body with rendered slightly rounded sides and a large rounded lip, raised on a flat base, with flat dome lid. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in egg yellow underglaze base color which contrast against the fresh green fine color. The exterior delicately fine depicted abundant fresh green foliage, interlocking vines and peony flower blooms, enclosed with thick fine green ring lines. The center medallion dome decorated with scrolling fresh foliage, and interlocking vines enclosed single green rings lines on the outlet dome mouth rim. This inadvertently gave texture, energy and shading to the design. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, the carving, and the shape. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. The reign mark, a vertical six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, Made In The Years of Xuande Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
