Description A CHINESE CARVED THREE-COLOUR CINNABAR LACQUER BOX MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
With five lobes to the edges of the base and a domed lid, the whole covered in deep carving decorated with chrysanthemum and plum blossom, exhibiting the three different layers of colour, yellow, green and red. The interior of the lid gilded, the base and interior lined with tortoiseshell.

Chips and cracks to the lacquer, an area of restoration to one of the lobes of the rim of the base, damage to the knob surmounting the lid.
