Description A Blue Ground Embroidered Silk Ladies' Robe
LATE 19TH CENTURY
of large section, densely worked with satin stitches in eight floral medallions, the wide cuffs with ladies against a cream ground, the side openings, hem, and low collar bordered by butterflies flittering amongst fruiting foliage; fully lined in pale blue damask.
Length from back of collar to hem 44 in., 111.8 cm; pit to pit 26 1/2 in., 67.3 cm.
