Description A Louis XVI style gilt-bronze mounted mahogany?table
circa 1890
the kidney-shaped top with a pierced gallery around a Spanish brocatello marble top above a frieze drawer, the reeded legs united by an undertier and ending in sabot together with a Louis XVI style gilt-bronze mounted tulipwood and kingwood table, 19th century, the rouge griotte top with a pierced gallery above three drawers on shaped legs
75.5cm. high, 52.5cm. wide, 32cm. deep and 73cm. high, 33cm. wide, 36cm. deep
Condition Report The first lovely quality. Some filler to the attractive marble top, which is damaged (imageds available on request). One rear leg with old, historic repair which does not detract. The smaller example (three drawers) decorative and in 'Country House' condition. Marble cracked in several places. The gallery is mis-shapen from where the piece has been knocked and hit the ground at some stage. One front leg is crudely stained with black stain to simulate grain and presumably to disguise fading, although it is very obvious. Splits and cracks to veneers with some losses and chipping, some patches at these sites. An attractive pair of functional tables.
