Description A set of seven Regency style parcel-gilt decorated ebonised armchairs

Condition Report In 'country house condition'. This set exhibits much wear - and repair which has been undertaken over a long period of time. Losses to painted surface revealing beech timber underneath. Some frames loose and some seats re-caned (the back panels of each has been gilded). Three seat will require re-caning. Evidence of old worm. Chips to scrolls at base of uprights to back rest. Each chair with repairs throughout these include repaired breaks with glue, screws and batons to undersides. Some feet re-tipped. Old marks chips and scratches consistent with heavy use. These chairs would benefit from some remedial attention. They come with a mixed harlequin set of upholstered squab cushions which require reovering and attention. Height to back rest: 87cm. Seat width: 56.5cm. Seat depth: 53.5cm.
