The beast shown striding with flames, its prominent backbone ending in the upswept tail, its mouth open in a fierce roar exposing its fangs, its eyes with an intent gaze beneath thick brows and horns between the pricked ears, height 18.9" — 48 cm.

Mr. Shepherd was born in Denver, Colorado, and attended high school in Cocoa, Florida. After graduating, he enrolled in Tulsa University where he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. He also went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Oregon. Whether collecting it or creating it, art was Mr. Shepherd’s passion. He acquired an extensive collection of fine art through auctions and travels abroad, including Chinese bronzes, rare furniture and coins. He was also an accomplished fine artist, creating works of pottery, pencil drawings and wood sculptures.
