Description Yomut chuval, Turkmenistan, mid-19th century. Exceptionally saturated dyes of dark aubergine, old orange, pale blue and bottle green with bright white accents make this chuval stand out from the pack. It is sturdily woven with a dense, pliable handle which is remarkably supple. The crisply drawn guls and spare, minimalist secondary motifs create a commanding, confident presence.
