Dia.: 23 cm This plate depicts a harbour scene of cloth traders offering their merchandise to prospective buyers. On the left a panel is inscribed AVP, relating to a cloth trader from Leiden, The Netherlands. The source for this design is an engraved copper plate in the Leiden Lakenhal museum, inventory nr. 11056 (link). The central medallion is inscribed "Caro de Oro" and "Fabrica de Brusela" . The coat of arms depicted on the upper rim is that of Brussels, representing the archangel Michael slaying a black devil. Another example of this type is in the Royal Museums of Art and History in Brussels. (depicted on this page)
