Note: collected from the Jokhang Temple by John Claude White who was second in command to the Younghusband expedition to Tibet 1903-04 and also the photographer. He was the only member of the group to have been granted access to many temples and monasteries. Purchased directly from an heir to the White estate in Oxfordshire. Bowls of this type are shown in early photographs of the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa
