Description

LUCAS VAN LEYDEN. (1494-1533) La Passione. Serie completa di 14 stampe. Incisioni al bulino. Ognuna di 115 x 75 mm., rifilate all’interno del rame. Ogni tavola con monogramma in nero e data 1521. Ogni tavola con monogramma in nero e data 1521. Carta vergellata senza filigrana. Bella impressione, ben contrastata, serie molto rara a trovarsi completa di tutte le tavole. Magnifica serie della Passione di Cristo, quattordici incisioni che illustrano gli ultimi giorni di Cristo, dall'Ultima Cena alla Resurrezione, realizzata da Lucas van Leyden nel 1521. L’artista olandese si concentrò sulla caratterizzazione delle persone e del loro comportamento, ricercando soluzioni innovative con grande fantasia e talento narrativo. Le scene raffigurate sono: 1. L’Ultima cena; 2. Gesù Cristo sul monte degli Olivi; 3. Il bacio di Giuda e l’arresto di Gesù Cristo; 4. Gesù Cristo davanti ai giudici; 5. Gesù Cristo oltraggiato nel Pretorio; 6. La flagellazione; 7. La corona di spine; 8. Ecce Homo; 9. Gesù Cristo porta la croce; 10. La crocifissione; 11. La deposizione dalla croce; 12. La sepoltura; 13. La discesa al Limbo; 14. Laid paper, without watermark. Superb, dark and early impressions, exceedingly scarce as a complete set. Magnificent series of the Passion of Christ, fourteen engravings illustrating Christ’s final days, from The Last Supper to The Resurrection, created by Lucas van Leyden in 1521. The Dutch artist focused on the characterization of people and their behavior, seeking innovative solutions with great imagination and narrative talent. The scenes depicted are: 1. The Last Supper;2. Jesus Christ on the Mount of Olives;3. The kiss of Judas and the arrest of Jesus Christ;4. Jesus Christ before the judges;5. Jesus Christ outraged in the Praetorium;6. The scourging;7. The crown of thorns;8. Ecce Homo;9. Jesus Christ carries the cross;10. The crucifixion;11. The deposition from the cross;12. The burial;13. The Resurrection.14.
