A FINE AND IMPORTANT RARE CHINESE EARLY MING BLUE AND WHITE 'GRAPES' DISH
Prob. YongLe Period
The shallow dish with a petal-barbed rim. The dish is painted in strong tones on the interior with a Grapes, stems and leaves. The exterior is decorated with a further floral scroll between classic scrolls at the rim and a key fret band above the foot, the cobalt with extensive 'heaping and piling'. The base is unglazed, reveals the pale-creme ground with dark grayish brown firing marks.

Dimensions: 3-1/4" H x 17-1/4" Dia.
