十七世紀 藏傳木雕彩繪羚羊圖衣箱
The motif of two deer facing a wheel symbolizes the Buddha's first sermon in the Deer Park at Sarnath. It is a design commonly found in gilded sculptures on the roofs of Tibetan temples, although in most cases the animals cannot be attributed to a particular species. Buckley notes that 'on this chest they are clearly intended to be Tibetan antelope rather than deer; the male animal has the characteristic long and slightly curved horns of this species.'
