The vase is richly decorated with incised Grisaille-style chrysanthemums and magnolias with their stems, which have been painted with a dry black glaze. This is the a€?Dayazhai autumna€ pattern (minus a magpie). The mouth has a gilded edge.The vase is hand potted. You can see the pottera€?s wheel marks on the unglazed foot ring. The foot ring is shallow and cut. The base is glazed. There is a stamped mark on the base in iron red but it is mainly drilled out.
