A GILT COPPER AND CLOISONNé QUAIL CENSER, JIAQING
China, 1796-1820. The quail is modelled standing on a circular base, with its head turned to one side and its beak open to reveal its tongue. Brightly enameled with midnight-blue body and white breast, the wings and tail feathers forming the detachable cover.
Provenance: From a French estate.
Condition: Fine condition with minor dents and losses to enamels, traces of use and old wear.
