A CELADON JADE MANDARIN DUCK, MING
China, 1368-1644. The recumbent bird with a long beak, circular eyes and neatly carved feathers. A small gap between the neck and the body serves for suspension as a pendant. Fine hand polish.
Provenance: From a private collection in Vienna, Austria. Acquired in the local market between 1970 and 1990. Thence by descent.
Condition: Superb condition with old wear, a few tiny nicks and a fine natural patina.
