A JADE BELT PLAQUE, MING DYNASTY
China, 1368-1644 or earlier. The front incised in shallow relief with a mountainous river landscape, a man crosses a bridge to a small island with a pavilion on top. The back with confronting kuilong.
Provenance: From the collection of Gabor Wilhelm, Paris, France. Acquired locally between 1960 and 1980.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear and fine patina, small dents to edges and corners.

Pierced for suspension. The sides with neatly incised key fret borders. The stone of pale grey color mottled with small black and brown inclusions. Slanted edges.
