The exceptionally large censer with a high pierced foot, twin handles and a pierced cover surmounted by two playing guardian lions, the whole decorated in polychrome enamels , with two shaped reserves to the front and rear depicting confucian figures in a garden landscape, the reserves amidst a geometric diaper ground.
