A LACQUER-GILT AND CARVED WOOD FIGURE OF BUDDHA, LATE MING TO EARLIER QING
China, 17th century. Original lacquer gilt and cold painting, the Buddha seated in padmasana and showing the dhyana mudra, the face showing a serene expression with downcast eyes, long earlobes and a gentle smile.
Condition: The lacquer in good condition, especially when considering the age of the piece, but with many small cracks and some losses, few touch-ups, wormholes and cracks to the base, soiling.
