A Chinese jade seal dating from the Ming dynasty. The top has a carving of a chilong, while the bottom has "Qi Wei Gong Ming Shi Du Shu" carved into it. Dimensions are: 1 inch tall X 1 1/4 inches wide, 2.5 cm tall X 3.2 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Age appropriate wear; overall good condition. Provenance: From Mrs. Fullerton in New Jersey. Her father, Maurice Etangs, was chief of police in Tianjin, China and lived there from 1935 to 1945. These items were collected during that time.
