A Chinese jade plaque dating from the Ming dynasty. The plaque has a carving of a dragon framed by ruyi and lingzhi. It is accompanied by a wooden stand. Dimensions are: 2 1/8 inches tall X 2 3/4 inches wide, 5.4 cm tall X 6.9 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Minor chipping throughout with natural seams and inclusions in the jade. Provenance: From Mrs. Fullerton in New Jersey. Her father, Maurice Etangs was chief of police in Tianjin, China and lived there from 1935 to 1945. These items were collected during those times.
