An Imperial Chinese porcelain and iron red bowl with a six-character Daoguang mark and of the period. The bowl is decorated with Shou medallions, bats and Buddhist crosses. Dimensions are: 2 3/4 in. tall X 6 3/4 in. wide; 7 cm tall X 17.1 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Hairline crack in the rim. Provenance: From the estate of Frederick C. McMillen. Mr. McMillen was sent to China by the US government after WWII to oversee rebuilding projects funded by UN grants.
