Bronze firegilt Tibet or China, Qian Long Period (1736 - 1796) Dimensions: Height 15,5 cm Weight: 836 grams Buddha Amitayus seated cross-legged on double reverse lotus throne with beaded rim. The bottom of the robe is fanning out underneath his ankles decoratively. The two hands are placed in each other in the lap, dhyana mudra, holding the Vase of Longevity containing the Amrita nectar, therefor also called Amrita Vase. He is adorned with lots of jewellery, the high chignon and hair also decorated with a plaque and chains.
