Unsigned Japan, 18th century, Edo period (1615-1868)
The seal netsuke carved as a snarling shishi standing upright on the oval base, supporting itself with both front paws on a flat rectangular slab, the flaming mane and tail finely incised.

Condition: Very good condition with minor surface wear, remnants of red seal paste to the underside. Provenance: Ex-collection Jury Kolodotschko.
