Description Majestic, Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, famous yongzheng blue & white chryshantemumn & peach reward vases on stand. The Finest porcelain potted in bile bottle shape vase, spherical body, with wide oval lower belly, thick, shoulder tapering to straight tall cylinder neck, with long cylindrical stick neck, close open rim, emerging two ribbon on the neck, raised on short splayed footing, with slighty concave foot base. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in cobalt blue underglazed, depicted of chryshantemumn flowers blooms and ripe peach tree interspersed dense fresh foliage surround the surface. Blue and white porcelain in Chinese it is called Qing Hua Ci. It is the most important variety of China?s porcelain. The Chrysanthemum is one flower where the color white gives it a positive meaning. Chrysanthemums are also a favored gift for the elderly as they represent a strong life force and is a treasured flower in China and is a symbol of joy and a wish for peaceful retirement. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, and the carving. Notes PROVENANCE: From Private collections of Mr. Peter Lyon (1938-2016), After graduation in 1959 he joined the military and was trained as a fighter pilot for the Marine corp. Retiring from the military his next career was as a commercial pilot for Pan American and United Airlines flying 747 aircraft in the pacific and orient. During his layovers he searched for fine porcelains which he proudly added to his private collection. A portion of his collection is being sold at auction to benefit his charitable interests.
