each decorated in shades of gold hiramaki-e on a black ground sprinkled with hirame, the interiors of nashiji, the larger example decorated with a mountain scene with an archway and three deer, the smaller example decorated with a riverscape scene with houses and trees on riverbank, figures in a boat on the river, with a boxwood netsuke in the form of a peapod with a snail climbing atop; both unsigned.
