each with a single compartment, the tuishu lacquer example of wide form, carved throughout showing two scholars appreciating a hanging scroll on one side, a seated scholar sitting on rockery underneath a pine tree with his attendant standing, all set above a diaper ground, the smaller example of rounded rectangular form, decorated in low relief showing a boar amongst flowering plants, all against a red ground; both unsigned.
Length of larger 2 1/2 in., 6.2 cm.
