The rather flat Inr? displays on its front an elaborately dressed young woman on the occasion of the Hanami celebrations, standing on the back of a man offering to be her footstool, busy hanging a Tanzaku primed in red on the branch of a blooming cherry tree. On the verso various pieces of clothing on a line hung between cherry trees. A woodcut by Ikeda Eisen may have served as a model for this depiction. Inside dense Nashiji. H.10cm. Condition A.
